ABSTRACT

The revolutionary group originated out of an earlier organisation called Zemlya Volya , a secret revolutionary group organised to encourage revolutionary impulses among Russian peasants. The idea persisted until the end of Alexander III’s reign and a broader wave of terrorist violence gripped Russia, during which the use of suicide bombers became a recurring element of escalating violence between the revolutionaries and the state. An executive committee was responsible for planting the revolutionary seeds among the peasants, students and workers through propaganda and targeted violence against government officials and their family members. The People’s Will was run by this committee and its members favoured a policy of terrorism. The Japanese leadership hoped that the relatively small numbers of Kamikaze would be able to combat the US forces effectively. The Provisional Irish Republican Army was an organisation that stood for the reunification of Ireland and the end of British rule in Northern Ireland.
