ABSTRACT

This chapter presents some examples of the problems of corruption. Corruption, as discovered in this research, in its many forms, is widespread in all the nations on which our research has been conducted: Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana. Corruption is a problem that has to be resolved, and plans are made for its elimination whenever projects are being undertaken in an African country. Nigeria, a major producer of oil, is the world’s largest importer of fuel because of very low outputs from the four Nigerian refineries. A government electricity generation plant, for example, or a steel production plant, a petroleum refinery or any other government industrial plant is planned, commissioned and put in ¬operation.
