ABSTRACT
Chapter 14 deals with elision, notably of the consonants /t d/ in various contexts, i.e. /t/ in /st/ + consonant, /kt/ + consonant, /ft/ + consonant, /pt/ + consonant, /ʃt/ and /ʧt/ + consonant; and /d/ in /nd/ + consonant, /ld/ + consonant, md ŋd bd ɡd ʤd ðd vd zd ʒd/ + consonant. There are also sections devoted to elision of /k/ in /sk/ + consonant and elision of /p/ and /k/ in /mpt/ and /ŋkt/.
