ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses how to resolve team conflict, avoid situational blindness, and decision difficulty. It also addressed the consequences of lack of team identity, poor communication, lack of creativity and, finally, lack of effective leadership. Avoiding and resolving team troubles are challenging goals. They require that you help team members find project activities interesting, support their independence and goal setting, help them progress through data collection, analysis, planning and implementation, and clearly communicate feedback when they are successfully doing so. Finally, they require that you help them feel accepted and cared for by the team and become more intrinsic and goal-motivated to support their creativity while avoiding team troubles.
