ABSTRACT

A program (a planned method for achieving particular objectives) is often several interventions that work together. For instance, some self-help programs are intended to lead to new attitudes and behaviors, increase social support and create supportive environments, policies and resources. This chapter focused on interventions leading to defined skills or knowledge, including training, job-aids, coaching and mentoring.

Using goals and objectives previously defined, your team should analyze what needs to be taught. Then you can select appropriate instructional strategies to create a simple training program. Alternatively, you might create a job-aid to support learning. Another approach is to select appropriate strategies to create a coaching or mentoring program.
