ABSTRACT

Fuzzy goals and objectives, and unclear strategies, can sap a project of its energy. This chapter covers a step-by-step approach to re-energize a stalled project, including identifying “key logs” that need to be cleared to get things moving, as well as including the right people on the team and making allies with the right organizations. With the help of a facilitator, a project can begin moving again by removing a logjam. George Odiorne’s concept of the activity trap is explained and how this can distract from the original goal. Another technique is using personal emissary work to create alliances between stakeholders.
