ABSTRACT

The mainstay of many organizations working on community change is volunteers. How do you recruit them, and how do you keep them? The answer to this question has changed dramatically in the last 40 years. A key place to start is knowing the individual characteristics of volunteers and their intrinsic motivations. Recruitment of volunteers can be achieved through the use of social media, personal invitation and networking.
