ABSTRACT
Generators are useful for exterior work where there is little or no power, and for bigger shoots with large lights. Honda has a whole line of EU-type generators that can supply solid 60Hz electricity including a new 2200W generator that can power some ARRI M-18s. Larger productions will use tow plants or drive-units, often with generators starting at 500 amps and larger. It is a good idea to meter hertz on larger generators and to keep it as close to 60.0 as possible. An important consideration with generators is placement to avoid sound issues, often solved by parking them farther away. One of the most frequent problems with generators is running out of fuel and not having more fuel on hand.
