ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of Strategic Focus, Strategic Outcomes, and Strategic Actions in preparation for building each of the several Strategic Focus Areas. The Strategic Analysis section began to paint a picture or path of where the company should go. The next component of the Strategy Whiteboard is leveraging the Strategic Analysis and creating the strategic direction of the organization around several Strategic Focus Areas. When the Strategic Focus Areas were developed in the Strategy Whiteboard, the conceptual framework of the Balanced Scorecard was influential. The order of the Strategic Focus Areas is also intentional. Customer & Market is the first Strategic Focus Area for a reason. The progression across the bottom of the Strategy Whiteboard is meant to connect and build on each Strategic Focus Area. There are tools that can be leveraged to enhance the effectiveness of each one of the Strategic Focus Areas.
