ABSTRACT

Most successful companies begin with a clear understanding of the customer and market and align their products to future consumer behaviors. Basically, the product is market-driven and designed around the customers’ needs. Establishing this customer/product structure aligns the organization. The product team can communicate the value of the product to cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and support. In the Product Strategic Focus Area, it is necessary to cross-correlate the work previously done in the Strategic Analysis section and the Customer & Market Strategic Focus Area. Fortunately, the future needs of the customer and what products they will desire have already been analyzed. Products are the reason why customers connect with companies. The External Impacts block and the STEEP model reflect information regarding the future product influences. The Product Microsystem model used to evaluate internal capabilities is referenced to create the Strategic Focus, Strategic Outcomes, and Strategic Actions. The Product Strategic Focus Statement identifies where the company will focus.
