ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a rule for learning tricky spellings. The rule states that the letter s is added to the end of most words to make plurals or verb agreements e.g. many cats (plural) or she eats (verb agreement). The chapter presents an exercise for learners to read out loud some words ending in plural 's' using the rule. It provides clues and pictures for learners to spell some words ending in plural 's' by using the rule. The chapter also includes an activity for the learners to rewrite some words into the correct order in a sentence by adding one of the missing plural ‘s’ words to complete each sentence.
