ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a rule for learning tricky spellings. The rule states that the letter name ‘o’ can end words like hello, potato and halo. The chapter presents an exercise for learners to read out loud some words ending in the latter name 'o' using the rule. It provides clues and pictures for learners to spell some words ending in the latter name 'o' by using the rule. The chapter also includes an activity for the learners to rewrite some words into the correct order in a sentence by adding one of the missing words with the ‘o’ ending to complete each sentence.
