Poetry and Nature

Goethe’s crisis came to a head when he had been in Weimar a decade. These years had stabilised and matured him. But maturity is relative to the individual’s nature and potential. Goethe in 1786 was deeply dissatisfied and unfulfilled. He travelled to Italy and felt himself reborn. In many ways it was his old self restored. However we see the process, it transformed his creative life.
