ABSTRACT

H.G. Wells's The War of the Worlds is of course not the only concept that was originally presented in one format to move on to other ways of being experienced. There are a multitude of ideas and narratives that have been successfully established across various disciplines and platforms. However, there are also those that one would have thought would succeed but did not manage to do so. There can be various reasons for the latter. Perhaps, the copyright holder or franchise owner did not accept to work with others in bringing the creative work to other formats and did not have the capability to do this successfully without assistance. In order for a concept to transcend present technologies, which first step from one platform to another, is as crucial as it is to define what is the concept actually is, once the media or platform is stripped away.
