ABSTRACT

By breaking down a storyline to a series of moments that can work on their own and in various combinations, a story experience can be experienced by the audience in a multitude of ways. These moments, which were introduced on the preceding pages as Micro Stories, can be made up as entirely new modules, or be based on an existing narrative that is deconstructed into modules to come to life in a new way. The key elements of the Micro Stories are content, context and control: what part of the overall story does it contain, what context or order is it encountered in, and what kind of control and influence the audience has in interacting with it. Each module has an entry and an exit point that help build connection between the Micro Stories. By grouping the Micro Stories in groups with shared rational and emotional entry and exit points, it is possible the prioritise the Micro Stories.
