ABSTRACT

To create a connection between the audience and the story, an interface is needed. By considering a multitude of ways of letting the audience engage with the story experience as interfaces, creators maintain that Integrated Storytelling concepts are not just meant as a one-way presentation of the creator's vision, but provide a two-way connection point with the audience. The platforms chosen to interface the audience with the story experience are the specific connection points between the audience and the Story Sphere, and have a particular form such as a movie, game, theme park and so on. To define an integrated model for designing story experiences that are created with the audience at the centre of their construction, the Story Sphere and the audience sphere can be merged into a new model which not only presents or surrounds the audience with the story, but is also influenced by them being at the core or the heart of it.
