ABSTRACT

When designing narratives for Integrated Storytelling, design goes beyond images, words and sound, even though these are still relevant and implementable in the integrated story experience. With the audience now actively immersing in and participating with the story and its worlds and characters, they become surrounded by a convergence of multiple narrative facets, or what one may call dimensions. Working with experiential and technical narratives in support of the story and theme are well- established disciplines within the themed entertainment industry. The main story to build from, with its heroes, villains and what other storytelling elements are needed. Supporting storylines may also be subplots and other perspectives. Unsolicited supporting storylines may be fan fiction, which, sometimes to the dismay of franchise IP holders and original creators may be appreciated more by other fans than what is considered canon.
