ABSTRACT

Storytelling, in its traditional forms, is much more than the discipline of presenting a series of events. The combined dynamics that have made up storytelling experiences for tens of thousands of years are a merges the storyteller, the media, the presentation and the audience. With Integrated Storytelling, even more aspects are added because of the interaction with and influence by the audience, the many different narrative structures available, new ways of distribution of the audience experience and storylines that may not be fully controlled by the storyteller. A set of universal story purpose strategies can be defined, and choosing one or the other also defines the disciplines needed to fulfil the full potential of the story experience. Each of the Integrated Storytelling strategies needs to be handled by the right resources.
