ABSTRACT

Video games have evolved far beyond the teenager bedroom to a ubiquitous, multi-platform industry with players of various ages and nationalities playing interactive games ranging from casual gaming to the professional e-sports players. Gaming has become a professional sports industry in its own right that is continuously on the rise. The principles of game design have been applied to interaction outside of the gaming environments and used for marketing and training, to drive the audience forward and award them for their achievements. Integrated Storytelling, which is an audience-centric design discipline, the dynamics with character development and character transformation reflects the dynamics of the convergence of the story and the experience. In order to design and integrate story experience for games and gamification, it is imperative to have a more nuanced perspective of what a game is.
