ABSTRACT
The World Heritage Convention carries on the standardization of cultural value. The Age of Preservation contributes to the removal of existing boundaries, boundary between the past and the present, barriers between the inside and outside of cultural heritage sites, and the distinction between those who give cultural value to objects and monuments, and others. World Heritage institutions have been altered by the effects of the Age of Preservation. There are also societies that are not traditionally familiar with cultural heritage institutions but are adapting to the Age of Preservation. Unlike Lyon and Tunisian sites, some World Heritage sites illustrate the maladjustment to the Age of Preservation. In the Age of Preservation, barriers between inside and outside of cultural heritage become blurred.
