ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the importance of the opening circle and how we can utilize the opportunity to know our students and gather information that will help shape the workshop ahead. The chapter offers some name games and practices such as visual description to make work more accessible to blind and visually impaired students/participants. It also introduces the memory game which can be used to develop the habit of remembering and retaining concise movement details when dancing, watching, and thereby improving both choreographic, improvisational, and feedback skills.
