ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the emphasis on ‘unsighted’ partner work and how it is designed to disrupt our tendency to regard the world as though we were viewing a screen. There are introductions to some of the most fundamental inclusive practices leading and following, interloper, stealing, and cascade which guide us through an understanding of the duet, the trio and group dynamics in dance with multiple examples, options for different physicalities, and teachers’ notes. These practices propose a re-education and a relocation of the mind in its proper home, the body.
