ABSTRACT

Crossing the line is a fundamental practice that grew from my experiences in Japan. It is a score that allows us to explore our understanding and use of space and time. It is initially a simple, very inclusive practice but one which invites increasing reflexivity about how we make decisions and the impact of those decisions on people with whom we share space, it helps us think about how we leave. It encourages individual choice and collective responsibility and explores the themes of stepping out of line, and the use of contradiction and opposition.
