ABSTRACT

TTP lessons were refined over time. Unlike other countries, Japan already had an established professional development practice in which teachers collaborate to develop a specific plan for a lesson, teach students based on the plan, and discuss its impacts on the student learning based on the observation of the lesson. This practice is called Jyugyou Kenkyuu or “Lesson Study.” I offer Collaborative Lesson Research (CLR) as a professional development practice based on Jyugyou Kenkyuu to help you and your school adopt TTP and create meaningful changes in teaching and learning. This chapter will walk you through how to initiate and run CLR at your school.
