ABSTRACT
The Qantas flight across the South Pacific Ocean from South America back to Australia is a memorable long journey, with different emotions and feelings: tiredness, happiness and fulfilment. The grey-haired supervisor slept like a log. He had a dream in which his book, co-authored with his PhD student, has been published before his retirement. He sincerely wishes that his experience and ideas could be shared with all his colleagues supervising international PhD students.
