ABSTRACT

The postscript takes up the intersections of COVID-19 and air pollution to outline the possible futures of a just urban environmentalism. It analyses the literature on the lockdown’s clean air alongside the human toll of the intervention. The chapter points out the political possibilities opened by the blue skies but also the challenges to environmental praxis as the economy reopens. Finally, it discusses the tactics of slowness and carefulness to make the case for an urban environmentalism that considers environmental harm and social justice together.
