ABSTRACT

A teacher can reduce their workload significantly by effectively planning their teaching space. Seating layouts, displays and clutter are all factors that a teacher has control over and each can contribute to an increased workload if not managed. This chapter deals with how you can exploit each to reduce your workload. There is also in-depth discussion about how your extra space can benefit your teaching and how you can make sure that you make the most of the newly considered classroom space. For early career teachers, this type of thinking isn’t a priority and it is something that can have a huge impact on your practice.
