ABSTRACT

Statistically, one of the most time-consuming jobs of teachers is marking and feeding back on students’ work. This chapter encourages teachers to reflect and completely overhaul how they spend their time in lessons to ensure that they are making the most of the time they are in the classroom, in order to reduce the amount of work they do outside of it. The approaches suggested encourage live feedback, whole-class feedback and look at different ways a teacher can gather information about understanding in order to further help their students progress. Ensuring students get feedback at the right time is also of paramount importance in the learning process. This chapter deals with how students can get instant feedback with minimal extra load for the teacher.
