ABSTRACT
A central functioning definition may make the subject of spirituality easier to research, understand, drive business value and so strive towards, and as such this does, in many respects, require a pragmatic solution. Prior to the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing was carried out in people’s homes using either hand tools or basic machines. In 1750, the Industrial Revolution marked a sizeable move to powered, special-purpose machinery, factories and mass production. The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain and quickly spread throughout the world. People were regarded as unnecessary fodder where science, under the guise of industrial betterment and ration-alist drive for efficiency, simply surgically removed any employers’ moral and ethical considerations and guides for its employees. The term and subsequent translations of spirituality first began to appear within the 5th century, but only became more common in the Middle Ages.
