ABSTRACT

Globalisation together with interconnected markets and interconnected relationships brings about undisputed opportunities and benefits whilst, at the same time, raises some new, inescapable and difficult challenges. The practical value of applying spirituality within turbulent interconnected markets and interconnected relationships is related to a need to further understand human resource behaviour in a wider and moral context in order to leverage assertive decision-making abilities. A value is commonly formed by a particular belief which is related to the worth of an idea, or a type of behaviour. Behavioural values reflect an individual’s, or an organisation’s, sense of right and wrong. Values are principles, standards and qualities which an individual or group of people hold in high regard. Spiritual core values may be expressed in words such as: truth, trust, respect, diversity, impartiality, integrity and freedom. Many individuals change jobs because of the attitude and behaviours of their leaders and managers.
