ABSTRACT

Spatialization is an inter-component Tier 2 Method (T2M) used to identify whether reorganizing the spatial relationships between certain components of a starting point will lead to useful innovation. The logic is to rearrange how different components of a solution are located in spatial relationships to potentially create solutions that add value through alternative embodiments, higher effectiveness, increased provider surpluses, and reduced vulnerabilities. The search algorithm involves examining the relationships among components and how they can be rearranged in their spatial relationships, mostly in terms of their structure and function. This chapter discusses 7 T3Ms organized based on the specific search variables into four categories. The first category focus on appearance. The second category focus on the interface. The third category focus on human flow, and the fourth category focuses on accelerating the flow of non-human elements and making them easier to obtain.
