ABSTRACT
The climate crisis calls for action in the building industry and this chapter provides insights into the collaborations needed to achieve net zero in buildings. Net zero is defined as net-zero energy in both embodied and operational energy. Two brief case studies, The Frick Environmental Center and the Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design offer insights about the collaborations between architects, mechanical engineers, and environmental consultants to realize net positive energy production.
