ABSTRACT

This chapter explores learning and unlearning as an evolutionary process to grow our understanding of ourselves and others. Kind and wicked environments expose us to many different challenges that can aid in the path to wisdom. The greatest changes in our lives happen at the very edge of our comfort zones. Humans are uniquely positioned to learn in many ways and in almost every environment. This learning can be progressive or digressive. Our global knowledge economy is growing and changing at an exponential rate. We cannot hold firm to ideas of the past. We must ask ourselves if past belief structures will still apply to the future. We must become comfortable with change and develop the ability to distinguish between the reality of our world today and what we observed in the past. The truth of today may not apply to tomorrow. Learn, unlearn, evolve, and repeat.
