Touring artists and their crew will need somewhere to sleep in every city. There are variations to this – tour bus drivers also need somewhere to sleep – but in the daytime, as they have driven overnight. As with most aspects of concert touring, there are traditions and conventions associated with the booking and use of accommodations, and this chapter gives a complete explanation of modern industry practice.
