ABSTRACT

Getting an artist onto stage each night of a tour requires production planning. This planning is complex and goes beyond organising the sound and lights at each venue, for instance. Some of the aspects include applying for work permits, anticipating health risks, and instilling a safety culture, planning and implementing effective communication technology, making sure all suppliers are included in planning decisions, and all invoices are paid on time. This chapter goes into detail about the myriad production planning processes and activities that make a successful concert tour.
