ABSTRACT

Audiences for podcasts are any public with an interest in their organization. One-third of that group had listened to a podcast within the last month and one-in-five within the last week. The benefits NPR derives from these podcasts include enhanced credibility and listeners relying upon it as a trusted source of information. Apps such as Apple Podcast also offer access to thousands of podcasts. Like audio and video scripts, a podcast script begins with a written title. Podcasts also allow an organization to present live events for later broadcast. For example, many podcasts are timed for individuals who listen while commuting to and from work. The ideal length for a podcast is as many minutes as members of the people target audience want the program to continue. Podcasts have the same strengths and weaknesses as the more traditional medium, radio.
