ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects, by way of focusing our perspectives, on the hypocrisy we so often encounter in modern thinking. It reviews the “taker” mindset, as described in Daniel Quinn’s book, Ishmael, and refers to our general desire to control everything, in spite of the fact that control is just an illusion. The takers, according to this perspective, are the members of modern society. The leavers are those that are victimized by our behavior.
