ABSTRACT

Comparing is something we all do at times, only to realize afterward that it only jumbles up our peace of mind. Krishnamurti describes comparing as a form of violence, primarily to ourselves, because it pushes us to do things we might otherwise not even consider doing. It robs us from our peace of mind and presses us toward ever-higher levels of performance. Besides, when we compare, we make the mistake of letting the eye see only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.
