ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book is devoted to specifying the political economy of conflict within the political economy and its application on the subset of conflicts concerning secessionism. It deals with the romantic factors in terms of the informal institutions as well as formal institutions. Various conflicts emerge in the daily life of economic actors, most of which could be studied by the political economy of conflict. To reach the aim of examining secession as the conflict resulting from the heterogeneity of preferences, the survey among the members of the secessionist movements in the European countries was conducted. European integration accelerated disintegration tensions, which are being solved either by negotiation between secessionists and the central government or by the armed conflicts.
