ABSTRACT

The relationship between the categorical data is tested using the non-parametric test of independence. Originality of research is derived from the original data collected among the members of the secessionist parties and movements. Data on the results of general and regional elections as well as voter turnout were collected from the European Election Database. Data on the regional distribution of the European structural funds were used from the DG Regional Policy Data for Research dataset. Data on the gross domestic product (GDP) and GDP per capita as well as the total population were used from the Eurostat dataset. There are high-quality institutional data provided by: Eurostat, OECD, or national institutions. Eurostat, as well as national statistical agencies, provide data on the nomenclature of territorial units. Data were collected between 21 June 2018, when respondents received mails with an invitation to the survey, and 1 August 2018, when the data collection was closed.
