ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I revisit some of the key themes of the book and assess whether the Edwardian era was truly a “Golden Age” of book inscriptions. I also consider how book inscriptions can help us reappraise our understanding of class conflict in early 20th-century Britain and what an ethnohistorical approach adds to multimodality. I end by discussing the practical implications of the study and future directions for research.
