ABSTRACT
Social networking sites are a big work distraction as well. Facebook has grown into the largest social media portal on the planet. Different from social network sites where users approve who gets to become a friend and only friends can see postings, Twitter is an open-access network that anyone can read. Other social media, such as Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook, also use hashtags to make it easy to search for topics of interest. Instagram is a mobile platform, which means that though visuals may be viewed, commented on, and liked on the Web, uploading must be done through the mobile application. YouTube is often used as a substitute for television – someone without cable or satellite can watch what he or she missed on air. LinkedIn is the largest online professional profiling platform. It boasts 675 million registrants across 200 countries and territories, with more than 70% of users outside the United States.
