ABSTRACT
Global Sourcing, outsourcing and off-shoring are themes that increasingly occur in the supply chain. The purchasing market has developed at a rapid pace from a regional to an international environment. With thorough preparation, the chances of a successful Global Sourcing project are substantially increased. The results of a Global Sourcing programme can primarily be seen in the areas of quality and control over the whole programme. In this manner, the pre-calculated costs will not quickly be exceeded and unexpected surprises are a thing of the past. For western companies, a model is a basis for concluding a contract and making detailed agreements. In various other cultures people are not used to putting everything in detail in a contract and then actually fulfilling the contract.
