ABSTRACT

The EFQM model is named for the organisation that developed it. The model was developed to be able to compete in Europe with enterprises from the Far East. The objective of the model is to create a complete quality system for an enterprise so that it is able to excel in any field and thereby resist the competition. The Institute for Dutch Quality Assurance model is a translation from the EFQM model to a Dutch model and used to be more comprehensive than the EFQM model. The employees of the enterprise play a crucial role in achieving an excellent enterprise. Within the processes, the activities are carried out by the employees with the aid of the resources allocated by the management. The enterprise will have to score highly in the results areas. Perceptions in the areas of customers and suppliers, employees and society must be measurable.
