ABSTRACT

Every activity carried out in the form of a project will have to be managed in some way or another. With small projects, probably by one person with a simple approach. The larger the project the more complex it is to oversee and keep up with everything. A method for managing more complex projects is PRINCE2. This method consists of components and processes. The components provide a controlled and manageable project environment. The processes describe what activities must be performed to achieve a predetermined objective. Furthermore, PRINCE2 has the following characteristics: management, business case, product-based planning, project organisation, and documentation. When implementing projects with PRINCE2, two aspects are important: the components that create a controllable environment and the processes that ensure a manageable execution. With the aid of the components, a controlled and thus manageable project environment is created. Due to this, the objectives of the project can be achieved.
