ABSTRACT
A digital management transformation begins with a thorough understanding of a firm’s digital assets, stripped of technological considerations. The generation, acquisition, and usage of a firm’s data is mapped into a conceptual framework from which valunomy and monetization can be engineered afterwards. This chapter discusses the transformation process through the development of a binary strategy. The digital transformation requires a dedicated team. The team is headed by the transformation manager. The analysis must be restricted to technically proven solutions that are available and bank account benign. Pie-in-the-sky concepts and bleeding edge technologies have no place in our digital management transformation strategy. In a digital management transformation, the mechanics and mechanisms of the digital construct are chosen as a function of the decision-making requirements of the organization. The bits and pieces that go into the digitalization of the organization are irrelevant initially in the grand scheme of things.
