ABSTRACT

The uniqueness of an organisation is called the culture of that organisation. Every organisation has a characteristic culture. Cultural homogeneity within an organisation is important for effective collaboration between the members of the organisation. Although the culture of organisations is influenced by national culture, differences in organisational culture are possible within one country. T. Deal and A. Kennedy assume that the culture of organisations is determined by two variables: the degree of risk the organisation takes and the speed with which the organisation receives feedback about its operations. Symbols can be words but also images, objects, attributes and other clear signs that express what is important and meaningful to the organisation. Internal integration is the adaptation of the activities of the members of the organisation to each other and to the goals of the organisation. The transmission and maintenance of an organisational culture occurs in several ways.
