ABSTRACT

Though sexiness begins with the self, it is not limited to the self; as such, sensory experience provides the essential second half of the sexiness control panel. Using examples supported by sample responses and explanations, Chapter 4 describes the four channels of this theme: Sensual Pleasure, Mental Excitation, Positive Affect and Relationship. For many, sensory experience refers chiefly to the physical experience of sensual pleasure, whether from sexual intercourse itself or other activities directly engaging the five senses. That said, Mental Excitation and Positive Affect also present as two unique forms of sensual pleasure extending primarily from the mind and residing occasionally in the body as well. Finally, Relationship rounds out the discussion in this chapter, referring to both the socioemotional bonds existing between people and the specific actions individuals take to maintain them. A cumulative review of all four channels is offered at the end.
