ABSTRACT

Exercise can be a tricky topic when it comes to recovery. In this chapter, the authors walk people though how to assess their relationship with movement to see if a break would be helpful. They give you some details about their personal experiences with compulsive exercise and what helped them to heal this relationship. They also provide tips and tricks to reframe movement from a compulsive punishment to a flexible fun pastime. Ultimately, they show you different ways that you can opt out of our current “fitness culture,” and instead learn to move your body from a place of joy.
