ABSTRACT

This fifth chapter presents the next steps for educational researchers and for school communities to make, based off the implications presented in the previous chapter. This chapter also explores the endemic nature of racism in all aspects of our society with a sense of urgency. By gradually taking a broader viewpoint of incorporating a Critical Race Theory (CRT) stance on future areas of research and scholarship, this chapter highlights areas of future academic research within the CRT domain. By looking at how this study could serve as a representation of how modern-day racial segregation of schools is being handled by principals, CRT allows for a discussion of the impacts on race, law, and power. The chapter concludes with final reflections on the role of the principal when expanding multicultural understandings. This chapter brings closure by tying together the previous chapters, but also emphasizes that this study it just the beginning of the academic research that is needed on this and related topics.
